NTSC Signs Two Cooperation Agreements at the Future Aviation Forum 2024

The National Transport Safety Center (NTSC) signed two memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Defense and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) during the third edition of the Future Aviation Forum 2024, organized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation from 20 to 22 May in Riyadh, under the theme “Enhancing Global Connectivity.” The first MoU with the Ministry of Defense aims to support air major accident investigations involving military aircraft, facilitate investigator collaboration, and utilize the technical capabilities of both parties. The agreement includes plans to establish a dedicated safety investigation laboratory, train and qualify specialized staff, and conduct joint refresher programs. NTSC was represented by its CEO, Captain Tai bin Abdulrahman Alshammari, while the Ministry of Defense was represented by Brigadier Pilot Rukn Ali bin Saad Al-Majri, Director General of the Armed Forces Safety Directorate. The agreement seeks to strengthen coordination in joint simulation exercises, participation in national and international events, and facilitate reciprocal visits between investigation teams, aiming to elevate the quality of military accident investigations. The second MoU was signed with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, represented by Dr. Ali bin Hassan Al-Sheikhi, Vice President for Research and Innovation. It aims to enhance cooperation in technical research and laboratory studies, exchange knowledge and expertise, support professional training, and promote collaboration in innovation, engineering, and social responsibility programs, including consultancy in technical, compliance, and governance fields. These agreements align with NTSC’s strategic goals to foster partnerships with national entities, leverage local expertise, and advance the overall framework for safety and technical excellence.
